June 16, 2016 - SilverCloud, a global provider of behavioural and mental wellness online solutions, has been recognised in Accenture’s Digital Health Tech Vision 2016 report as an innovative company taking charge of mental health through intelligent automation - and set to have a major impact on the delivery of mental healthcare over the next few years. SilverCloud is one of five companies featured in the report, alongside Apple, Uber, Philips Health and UnitedHealth Group.
The Accenture Digital Health Tech Vision 2016 report reveals five trends that prove that winning in the digital age hinges on people. SilverCloud is recognised as part of the “intelligent automation” trend for making care delivery and administration more seamless across the health ecosystem, enabling people to work more efficiently and where they are needed most. The four other trends covered in the report are liquid workforce, the platform economy, predictable disruption and digital trust.
SilverCloud provides online solutions for the treatment of mental health and long-term chronic conditions such as diabetes. The clinically validated and supported programmes enable users to access interactive content anonymously, from all devices—including mobile, tablet and desktop—and at a pace that suits their schedule. This flexibility gives users the ability to engage in and take charge of their own care and provides clinicians with the ability to visit with up to six times as many patients than in a pure face-to-face environment while maintaining the same level of outcomes. SilverCloud solutions use analytics and clinical measurements to report back on progress.
Ken Cahill, CEO of SilverCloud, said: “The SilverCloud solution is transforming healthcare. Having a clinical supporter integrated with our platform is critical to delivering effective solutions for mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and stress. With one in four people in the UK affected by mental health conditions and one-third of GP appointments related to mental health concerns, intelligent solutions like SilverCloud can play a huge role in delivering care that is urgently needed.”
Kaveh Safavi, senior managing director and co-author of Accenture’s report added: “The Accenture Digital Health Tech Vision 2016 report highlights trends that hold the potential to have a significant impact on the healthcare industry. As an example of Intelligent Automation, SilverCloud’s technology is allowing the patient to engage and take charge of their own care through clinically validated online programmes that can deliver results on par with traditional therapy methods such as face-to-face therapy.”
