Last week NHS England announced the launch of a Digital Development Lab, Developer.nhs.uk to help develop the evidence base for digital therapies and support emerging tools, which can be can be tested, evaluated and endorsed by clinicians for wider use through the new NHS Digital Tool Library. The new digital tools pages, have been designed to showcase a selected number of apps while they test and refine the platform. 25 tools are included in the early version, of which SilverCloud Health is delighted to be included. The NHS aims to build out and refine the library, to host leading healthcare apps so they are accessible and trusted by the public.

The library supports the NHS vision, to help people better manage and improve their health by designing digital health tools and services that connect people to the services they need, when they need them, with the least number of steps.

Discussing their vision for digital technology in a recent blog, Juliet Bauer, Director of Digital Experience at NHS England, and Rachel Murphy, Delivery Director at NHS Digital said, “We are setting the quality standards that the NHS can hold all digital health and care products to, laying the foundations to build a truly transformative digital health service.”

The Future of Digital

We look forward to exploring the future of digital in the NHS further at the forthcoming DIGITAL IAPT 2017, Disrupting IAPT Event, in London on May 8th. The summit will focus on the development of digital technologies in IAPT, following the government pledge to adopt digital enabled service delivery in mental health.

SilverCloud Health’s Director of Clinical Research and Innovation Dr. Derek Richards, will be presenting at the event, on Digital pathways in IAPT, and how digital can support integrated care. Dr. Richards will also be participating in what promises to be an interesting panel discussion on - Disrupting IAPT, Changing the Game: if we started with a blank sheet in IAPT what would we do differently? and how can digital help poorly served groups.

We look forward to seeing you at Digital IAPT. Visit our stand for our demo of our new programs for integrated IAPT.
